The first water car is already a reality: Experts are talking about “the end of hydrogen

We know that water gives life, but contributing to the mobility of a car, that is still news to many. Hydrogen is one thing, but a car that operates on almost 100% fuel-based power is intriguing. Discussions that could alter the path of that story have been triggered by the arrival of the first water-powered automobile. Experts are starting to discuss “the end of hydrogen” as the primary clean fuel source at this point.
A cheap, clean, and safe fuel has been produced by the Australian-Israeli business Electriq Global. 60% of Electriq’s fuel is water, but thanks to their ground-breaking technology, they can extract hydrogen from it and use it to power the car. There are enormous potential ramifications for world energy consumption as well as the automotive sector with the advent of a breakthrough water-based fuel system.
A water-powered vehicle: This is next-level automotive advancement
We have heard and read reports about how amazing hydrogen is and why the automotive sector is switching to it. However, technological advancements always open new opportunities and stimulate automakers’ imaginations, experiments and research. This is because the new discovery of water-based fuel may just push hydrogen to the back seat. At the end of the day, water is a natural sustainable resource.
The liquid fuel based on water is stable and safe at room temperature and pressure. Electriq~Global achieves twice the range at half the cost of competitors in the green energy market, such as compressed hydrogen technology or lithium-ion batteries. By dissolving water into hydrogen and oxygen and using that hydrogen to create energy, the method provides a more effective and environmentally friendly means of driving automobiles.
Since the water fuel system is lightweight and portable, it may be possible to do away with the specialised infrastructure that hydrogen-powered cars need. Water-fueled cars have an advantage over hydrogen-fueled ones just because of this, as they can get over one of the main obstacles to hydrogen’s widespread use. In an article by Space Daily, Electriq~Global CEO Guy N. Michrowski says,
“Our technology brings dramatic news of improvement in driving range, refueling time, and cost of fuel and changes the rules of the game in many fields, including transportation and energy storage.”
Experts express their opinions: “The end of hydrogen”
Is there a possibility that hydrogen could be slowly ending and soon forgotten about? Perhaps not, however, experts beg to differ. The development of the water-based fuel has stirred a few conversations, questions and concerns. Although hydrogen-powered vehicles have long been hailed as the wave of the future for environmentally friendly transportation, obstacles including expensive prices, and limited infrastructure has been the main issue.
Therefore, a water-based resource for car fuels solves all these issues because water is readily available, and manufacturing the tools to store the water is not an issue as it has been a lifestyle substance that many have adopted what and what not to use. Water, on the other hand, is easily transported and one does not need to worry about explosions and dangerous oil leaks.
Water-based fuel systems are currently viewed by many industry insiders as a game-changer that could render hydrogen obsolete before it ever gets an opportunity to establish itself completely. Water-powered vehicles have the potential to upend the industry by providing a more straightforward, affordable, and secure option, despite the fact that governments and major automakers have both actively supported hydrogen technology.
As water-based fuels gain traction in the clean energy discourse, some experts are already saying that investments in hydrogen infrastructure may not be the most practical course of action in light of these developments. In actuality, a water car might spell the end for petrol and all other harmful fuels. Though not to this degree, we have long recognised that hydrogen will be crucial to the decarbonisation of transportation.
